Cargotec has decided to donate 600 000 euros to Tampere University of Technology, which conducts forward-looking research and provides education in areas that are important to Cargotec. With the donation, Cargotec wants to support the university’s operations that also benefit industrial life.
“We are very pleased with Cargotec’s donation that will give us more resources. Our cooperation with a leading and international company like Cargotec gives us an important view to industry. Cargotec helps us to get firsthand knowledge of load and cargo handling products and users globally,” says Markku Kivikoski, President of Tampere University of Technology.
Cargotec is building a technology and competence centre to Tampere close to Tampere University of Technology and plans to move to the new and modern premises in 2013 at the latest.
“The Tampere competence and technology centre will be one of the major hubs for Cargotec’s Industrial & Terminal business area and it will develop innovative solutions for the benefit of our customers. We believe that our cooperation with the university will develop further,” says Mikael Mäkinen, Cargotec’s President and CEO.
